And then there were two

I finished those chairs!

And this guy is next:

But after I win the $640 Million lottery tonight, I might be too bust buying mansions and wearing diamonds to get around to it.

Blood, sweat, lots of swearing.

I didn't realize it had been so long since my last post. One minute it's March 4, the next it's March 20. Where does the time go?

Well, some of it goes into chairs. For me, it's chairs. If you follow me on the Twitter or the Instagrams, you will know that sometime in February I picked up these little fugs in my local junk shop.

Honestly, I immediately had buyer's remorse. While I had a vision for them, I just felt lazy, and also inexperienced in this kind of project, also my vision for them did not at all go with the other items in my apartment. But whatever. They were mine, and I was going to make the most out of them.

First, I spent about two days sanding, priming and painting these mofos.

Then I waited. Because I knew the fabric I wanted, but had to wait until I had the money to spare on that much fabric that could all go to waste in the event of DIY disaster. And then the time came, and I ordered this Century Butterfly fabric by Holli Zollinger from Spoonflower.

Then my spare room exploded.

Then my cat got hold of some welt cord.

Then I made my own piping and was so proud of myself.

I don't have a cord foot, so had to use a zipper foot.
And then this happened.

And then this (don't look too carefully because it's actually not finished).

And now I have to find the energy to do the other one.

Book Learning.

You may be keeping track on my "2012 Get 'er done" page, but I've been getting through my GG reading list like wildfire. Almost. Sometimes I get caught up on a book that will take me a month or more to get through. And then, to top that off, I've been drifting into a pile of books that I just want to read.

My "to-read" pile.
To add to that, I've been taking these classes and they have books to be read. And, let me just go off on a brief tangent - textbooks are expensive. And I am a person who puts prices on textbooks for a living. I am the scum of the earth. I'm sorry students everywhere.

It's shocking to me that I only have 17 more books on my GG list to get through. The end is nigh, indeed.
